2023 WVB Award Recipient

About the Award

The Werner-VonderHaar-Bogart (WVB) Award is the highest honor that the Cincinnati PRSA Chapter can bestow upon a member. It is given to a member to recognize service to the Chapter, the community, the profession and the Society.

The award is named after William Werner, Edward VonderHaar and Judith Bogart, three public relations leaders who served as presidents of the Cincinnati chapter and later served as PRSA national presidents.

Judges look for candidates who have demonstrated service to the chapter, the community, the society and the profession. Award recipients have demonstrated achievement in at least three of the four service areas.

2023 Award Recipient - Brandy L. Jones, APR

PRSA Cincinnati Chapter is proud to announce our 2023 Werner-VonderHaar-Bogart Award recipient: Brandy L. Jones, APR. Congratulations, Brandy on this well-deserved achievement! Often considered a lifetime achievement, the WVB Award is the highest honor offered by the Cincinnati Chapter of PRSA. It recognizes a public relations professional who has made significant contributions in four key areas: the chapter, community, profession and PRSA.

Brandy L. Jones, APR, is the Senior Vice President of External Affairs at the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority/Metro. In this role, she serves as the organization’s spokesperson and is responsible for overseeing media relations, digital media, employee communications, marketing and advertising, government affairs and community engagement efforts.

Mrs. Jones has more than a decade of experience in the public relations industry. She has held several leadership roles at Metro, including external affairs director, public relations manager and internal communications coordinator. Prior to Metro, she served as an Account Coordinator at Kevin Wilson PR Agency.

Among her numerous volunteer roles, Mrs. Jones is a member of the Cincinnati Chapter of The Links, Incorporated; serves on the board of directors for the East Central District of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is a past president of the Cincinnati PRSA Chapter.

She has served as a board member of Learning Grove, Inc,; member of the City of Cincinnati’s Families and Children Cabinet; and as president of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (Cincinnati Chapter). She is a graduate of the Cincinnati Regional USA’s Leadership Cincinnati Class 46 and C-Change Class II.

She has been recognized as a “Forty Under 40” by the Cincinnati Business Courier, a “Top 40 Under 40” by Mass Transit Magazine and is a recipient of numerous PRSA Blacksmith awards for her professional body of work, including being a member of the 2016 PRSA Communications Team of the Year.

Mrs. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from Xavier University. She is an Accredited Public Relations professional.
