PRSA Cincinnati Chapter is proud to announce our 2021 Werner-VonderHaar-Bogart Award recipient: Allison Schroeder, APR. Congratulations, Allison, on this well-deserved achievement! Often considered a lifetime achievement, the WVB Award is the highest honor offered by the Cincinnati Chapter of PRSA. It recognizes a public relations professional who has made significant contributions in four key areas: the chapter, community, profession and PRSA.

Allison is an award-winning public relations professional with more than 15 years experience serving in both agency and in-house roles. Allison is the founder of Pomme Communications, an agency specializing in public relations, marketing activations and strategic partnerships. Under her leadership, Pomme has been recognized more than 21 times for its work in the industry, representing clients within the wellness, hospitality, consumer goods and professional service industries. In 2021, Pomme will be the official agency of Startup Cincy Week, where Allison will also serve as a presenter.

A proud member of PRSA since 2007, Allison served on the new pros committee in 2007-2008 and has served as the Accreditation Director since 2018. Throughout the years, She has presented at PRSA media day, the Blacksmith Awards and multiple lunch and learns. Her thought leadership can be found in several issues of PRSA’s Issues & Trends, Strategies & Tactics as well as PRSA’s PRsay blog. She has also been featured in the New York Times, Medium, Power to Fly, MediaPost, and Women in PR, among other outlets.

Outside of PRSA, Allison is active in the Entrepreneurs’ Organization of Cincinnati, where she helped launch its inaugural accelerator cohort. She is also involved with the Ohio State Alumni Association of Cincinnati, where she has served on several committees. She is also particularly passionate about giving back to support local cancer research, as demonstrated through her involvement with Ride Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Cancer Advisors.

As an active runner, Allison has completed more than 25 half marathons and, in 2020, ran more than 100 miles for local cancer research as part of Ride Cincinnati’s virtual program. This passion for running bleeds into her work life, as in addition to her work through Pomme, Allison is the creator and event director of The Great Bridal Chase, a themed 5k event that offers a premium race experience, paired with a swanky, reception-like party.

Allison holds a B.A. from The Ohio State University and can be found on Saturdays cheering on her beloved Buckeyes at the weekly game watch (following her weekly 10-mile run, of course).
