Serve Your Chapter

Get the most out of your Cincinnati PRSA membership!

Programming
We’re looking for people with creative ideas for professional development. This group schedules speakers and networking events throughout the year. Activities may include speaker outreach, event planning or helping with promotion. Contact: Elizabeth Desrosiers.

Diversity
The Diversity Committee's mission is to bring attention to diversity in the public relations profession and to make PRSA more inclusive and welcoming by reaching out to industry professionals of diverse racial backgrounds, ethnicities and sexual orientations. We also strive to bring multicultural understanding and expertise to public relations professionals in order to address the diverse audiences. Contact: Suzanne Boys, APR

Community Service
Want to make a difference in the community? Give back to many of the area’s nonprofits by providing assistance around their PR and marketing efforts or involvement in other community service projects. Contact: Terri Hornbach-Torres, APR

Chapter Website and Social Media

Help us show the world the amazing PR and creative talent we have in Cincinnati! We're looking for local PR pros willing to share their own day-in-the-life stories via Instagram takeovers. We also need members who can live tweet and post during our Chapter's programs and events. We're always looking for interesting and effective ways to engage Cincinnati PRSA members (and future members) on the social media committee so we welcome new ideas. Interested in this role? Contact: Adam Hesselbrock

Membership
This is great for people interested in networking more. We’re looking for people who are willing to welcome new members and connect them to opportunities within the Chapter through personal outreach. You could also help plan casual new member orientations or info sessions for prospective members. Contact: Shara Clark, APR

Sponsorship
Help the Chapter secure sponsorships that support all of our programming. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get involved and not looking for a huge time commitment. Activities include a monthly phone call with the sponsorship chair, contacting potential sponsors, brainstorming potential sponsors and sponsor opportunities, and coordinating sponsorship details like logos, payment and billing. Contact: Faith Lynch

Media Day
Be a part of planning the largest professional development event for PR pros in our area! Committee roles include sponsorship outreach, happy hour planning, promotions and speaker outreach. We ask that committee members work on one or two of the sub-committees, and each sub-committee has a lead in charge of seeing that project through and reporting back to the full committee. The time commitment is a few hours per month, plus a one-hour conference call each month, and a few extra hours needed in the fall prior to the event. Contact Will Jones or Jennifer Tan

Blacksmith Awards
The Blacksmith Awards is the Chapter's premier recognition event, honoring the best of Greater Cincinnati’s public relations community. The planning committee is responsible for managing all aspects of this event, from gathering entries in more than 40 categories to hosting the awards ceremony. Contact: David Honchul, APR or Lexi McCoy

Content/Blog
We're looking for writers who are interested in blogging and contributing to our monthly newsletter. We want to promote best practices, innovations, helpful 'how-to's', and celebrate the accomplishments of our Chapter and its members. Contact: Pat LaFleur

APR
Assist with the chapter’s accreditation preparation program, as well as its annual recognition event. Contact: Drew Bohmker, APR

New Pros
New Pros have a tremendous opportunity to help elevate the Chapter and our community. Enhance your skills, network with top area professionals and build meaningful relationships. Members of all backgrounds are encouraged to join. There are opportunities for community service, building relationships with local PRSSA chapters, assisting with New Pros social media efforts and helping to plan networking events.
