WVB Award Winner 2022 - Shannan Boyer

Shannan Boyer is the president and founder of Scooter Media, an award-winning public relations agency in Covington, KY.

A seasoned public relations professional, over the course of her 20+ year career, Shannan has had the opportunity to develop and implement communication programs for national, regional and local brands ranging in size from Fortune 100 to small nonprofits. She has a passion for serving clients in the arts, nonprofit, tourism, and food service industries.

Shannan has received several public recognitions, including being named to the Cincinnati Business Courier’s Forty Under 40 class of 2014, being named PR Professional of the Year by Cincinnati PRSA in 2015, and receiving the Northern Kentucky Young Professionals Legend Award from the Northern Kentucky Chamber in 2021. Shannan was also recognized by Cincy Chic as a Woman of the Year in 2015 and by HealthPoint Family Care as a HealthPoint Hero in 2013.

As an agency owner, Shannan’s top priority is creating a culture where her team can grow professionally and personally. Her people-first approach has led to Scooter Media being recognized with more than 60 awards for client work as well as multiple professional recognition awards for team members. The agency has received the “Cool Place to Work” Award from the NKY Chamber and has been recognized as the Small/Mid-Sized Agency of the Year by Cincinnati PRSA for five consecutive years.

Shannan earned her bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University (#NorseUp) and resides in Park Hills, Ky with her husband Marty, and their two sons, Brady and Sean. She is involved on a variety of committees and boards with organizations including Leadership Northern Kentucky, Northern Kentucky University, and Aviatra Accelerators and enjoys mentoring students and up-and-coming entrepreneurs. She has been a member of Cincinnati PRSA for most of her career and is an active member of PRSA’s Counselors Academy Section.

Outside of work you are likely to find her hiking, participating in a community bike ride, or spending time at Lake Cumberland with her family.
