Hello, and welcome to 2022 from Cincinnati PRSA! It’s a new year full of exciting possibilities, and while the same challenges of the last few years persist, I’m also hopeful that it will be the year that we’re able to reconnect, re-engage, and come together as a chapter once again.
First, let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Bridget Kochersperger, and I’m your 2022 Cincinnati PRSA Chapter President. By day, I work with the talented attorneys and staff at local law firm Ulmer & Berne as the Regional Marketing Communications Manager. By night, I’m a proud mom to a spunky and sweet three-year-old who challenges me in new ways every day.
I’ve so been looking forward to my year as Chapter President because this chapter is so special to me – as a transplant from Cleveland and fresh out of college in 2010, I hardly knew anyone in my new city… until I joined Cincinnati PRSA. Twelve years later, I couldn’t be more grateful for the friendships I’ve found and the connections I’ve made.
As I look forward into 2022, I can’t help but put my rose-colored glasses back on. Maybe it’s the fact that the Bengals are headed to the Super Bowl, I’m not sure, but it feels like anything is possible. As PR pros, we’ve spent the last two years facing obstacle after obstacle, but we’ve persisted. We’ve found new ways to engage with audiences, we’ve honed our pitch skills to break through a news cycle dominated by pandemic and political stories, we’ve come up with intensely creative tactics to celebrate, come together, and tell our clients’ and companies’ stories. And while it’s unclear whether or not we’ve “made it to the other side,” what I know for sure is that we can adapt, we can endure, and we can excel.
But my biggest hope for this year is that we as a chapter continue to find ways to truly reconnect with each other. Networking is one of the cornerstones of this organization, and to me, it feels like the piece we’ve all been missing in this zoom-dominated world we’re now living in. In 2022, I’m challenging myself – and I’m challenging our members – to seek out opportunities to build and strengthen connections with other PR + communication pros in Cincinnati.
I’m so honored to serve the Cincinnati Chapter of PRSA as president this year. We have an incredible leadership team assembled and an exciting slate of events planned for the coming months. So please, join us! If you’re looking for ways to engage, to network, to grow in your career, I encourage you to consider joining a committee, attending our monthly and signature events, and keeping up with this wonderful chapter as we continue to navigate whatever the new year has in store for us.
