Thank You!

by Brandy Jones, 2021 President

It’s hard to believe that we are wrapping up the year already and heading into the holiday season. As I finish up my term as President of the Cincinnati Chapter of PRSA, I’d like to say thank you to each of you - our members. The trust you have placed in me this past year to steer the association through the second year of the pandemic, shape future programs and activities, and be a voice for our profession I did not take lightly.

I am incredibly thankful for the 2021 leadership team and all that we have been able to accomplish together. As the chapter’s first African American president, I am so very proud of the work we continue to do to attract and retain diverse members and ensure that our programming reflects the communities in which we live and serve. Together we established and awarded the inaugural Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship Program for both students and practitioners to further remove barriers that may prohibit access and participation in our chapter, programming, APR accreditation and awards programs.

We’ve worked diligently to demonstrate the value of membership through informative programming that provides tools, tips and best practices to help our members navigate the ever-evolving PR landscape, including hearing from the governor’s head of communications regarding the State’s handling of the vaccination and the Vax-A-Million drawings during our annual Media Day event.

Through it all, we’ve kept our membership steady, engaged and thriving – thanks to each of you!

Congratulations to the incoming president, Bridget Kochersperger, and the 2022 leadership team.  We have an amazing chapter, and I encourage you to lend your expertise, experience and voice by serving in a leadership role or on a committee. You’ll be in great company.

While I’m signing off as president in a few short weeks, I’m proud to share that I’ll continue my service to the profession on the board of directors of the East Central District of PRSA.

To each of you and your families, I wish you a very happy holiday and a prosperous new year!
