Position Summary: Under the direction of the Public Relations Director, the Digital Content Creator will be responsible for creating high-quality video and photography content that effectively represents the Kenton County Public Library brand. Key attributes of the person in this role include creativity, attention to detail, flexibility, humor and understanding of the importance of deadlines.

Schedule is variable and will include evenings, weekends and out of library hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Help tell the story of the library through social media.

  • Assists the Social Media Coordinator by taking photographs and videos.

  • Uses statistics and other pertinent library information and turns it into content for social media.

  • Responsible for producing, shooting, and editing multimedia videos to highlight the library staff, patrons, programs, and services.

  • Must be able to adhere to the integrity of the library's brand and understand the library's message.

  • Take initiative to learn and understand what is appropriate for our audience and be versed on social media trends and platforms.

  • Oversee all stages of branded video and photographic production, including storyboarding, scheduling, lighting, filming, and editing content.

  • Create motion graphics to be used in videos and social media.

  • Photograph library events, activities, services and more for website, social media graphics, and printed material

  • Contribute ideas for content calendar.

  • Responds to comments, questions, and messages across social media platforms in a timely manner.

  • Familiar with the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in PR/Communications/Journalism/Social Media/Marketing preferred.

    • Will consider upper-level college student majoring in PR/Communications/Journalism/Social Media/Marketing

  • Candidate must have own transportation and be able to travel to all KCPL locations.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that will require evenings and weekends and out of library hours.

  • Ability to define and solve problems; be able to work alone or within groups; have awareness of community resources and contacts; and be highly self-motivated.

  • Familiarity with the scheduling platform Coschedule and graphic program Canva preferred. Adobe Creative Suites experience helpful.

  • Experience in video and photography for social media

  • Understanding of composition and design principles

  • Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, After Effects, and Premier Pro as well as audio editing software.

  • Ability to develop content for specific audiences, while maintaining brand expression

  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently.

  • Light to moderate physical demands including the ability to bend, kneel, reach to retrieve equipment and carry items weighing 20-30lbs,
